Basilica of St. Vincent de Paul - Bydgoszcz

St. Vincent de Paul Basilica Minor is a beautiful massive building in the center of Bydgoszcz, Poland, built between 1925 and 1939, designed by the Polish architect Adam Ballenstaedt and modeled on the Roman Pantheon.
The most characteristic element of the neoclassical building of the church is the reinforced concrete dome with a diameter of 40 meters.
Basilica of St. Vincent de Paul was a gift of local communities for the return of the Pomerania to Poland after WWI. The current, modern appearance was as a result of post-war reconstruction. It is one of the largest churches in Poland. The front door are called the "Door of blessings" because of the bas- reliefs adorning them. The final interior was designed by the architect Wiktor Zin, a great promoter of the history of architecture, well  known for his TV program: "Pen and Charcoal".
